Alfa Romeo Coming to America!

It looks like we haven’t seen the last of European automaker Alfa Romeo. Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne delivered his strategy to revive Chrysler. After he told people about that strategy he also mentioned another. One that involved bringing back Alfa to the U.S. The plan he says, is to sell it as an upscale car which competes with the likes of Audi, BMW and Mercedes but offers more affordable prices.
The question on everyone’s mind is quite obvious. Will this plan work? Can Alfa form a new successful base in the U.S. given its retreat in 1995? The people who we’re in the market for a new car in 95′ would flat out tell you know. They would say that Alfa was known to have sub par quality cars which sold a price above their worth. Well shut your lips and learn 95′ers. This is a new day and age and Alfa has cleaned up and refined its act.
My thoughts are that Alfa Romeo makes it in the U.S. I think they will be successful at sustaining long term growth. This is of course assuming that they will be able to forge a new brand image for themselves can shows America what their cars can do. I think after a year or two, you’ll be seeing people driving MiTo’s and GT Coupes. I’ll say this, I can absolutely guarantee on thing.
You’ll be seeing me cruising around town in an 8C! It’s because of this car that I think Alfa has changed. The 8C is art, it’s…alright I’m going off course, that’s a topic for another post.
Alfa will come and conquer!
